We first pass over a small tongue of lava sticking
out from the main lava flow. At its edges are pillow lavas with a heavy
dusting of sediment on them. This tells us that either the flow is not
very young, or that sedimentation rates in this area are very high. The
ring print in the sediment was made by an organism that we don’t
see.
