The narrow white tubes at upper right are tubeworms, and the tan
colored animals on stalks may be sponges, but we are not sure. We
are asking our vent biology shore-based colleagues, Dr. Cindy Van
Dover of the College of William & Mary, and Dr. Tim Shank of
Woods Hole Oceanographic, to help us identify them. We will let
you know what they think they are.
