Craig Elder, a member of Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution’s Deep Submergence Operations Group, holds the
tailend of the sonar fish. Because of its shape, this part is called
the “lollipop.” You can see that Craig is wearing a
hard hat and work vest. Safety is an important concern, especially
when moving heavy equipment on a rolling platform like a ship on
the ocean.
