Rob Palomares, Scripps’ CTD technician, unbolts a MAPR (Miniature Autonomous Plume Recorder) from a line connected to our DSL-120 sonar fish. As the “fish” surveyed the seafloor over the last three days, the MAPR collected data about seawater properties (temperature, conductivity, and how clear the water was) about 75 meters above the ocean bottom. We are now downloading data from the MAPR and will analyze it during the next few days.
