Today Alvin's crew placed a hand-blown glass “planet” made by artist Josh Simpson at the new vent site discovered yesterday along the Gal�pagos Rift. Josh’s “Planets” reflect his view of Earth’s beauty and its unique environments. For the past several years, Dan Fornari has been leaving Josh’s “Planets” at many places along the mid-ocean ridge system. Josh thinks of his “Planets” as artifacts for future generations to find.
