A pilot boat from Mauritius meets the ship at a buoy outside Port Louis. The pilot (in white) climbs aboard Knorr and guides it into port from the ship’s bridge. He knows the tides, currents and any rocks or hidden objects offshore that might interfere with the Knorr’s docking.
