This morning, we took a break from rock coring and dredged instead! Ron Comer, the Scripps Resident Technician (left), helps Ben Wigham (right) and Erin Todd (back) hang the pinger on the wire. The pinger sends a 12 kiloHertz signal every second down to the seafloor and back to the ship so we can tell when the dredge is on the bottom.
