The next three images are digital photographs taken
with a Benthos 5010 digital camera that Bob “Yogi” Elder
mounted on Argo II for the last lowering. It takes great pictures
as you can see! This shows sedimented lobate lavas at a depth of
3500 meters in the Galapagos Rift valley. The white object is a
stalked sponge. The distance across the image is about 3 meters.
