Hi: my name is Ian and I go to Jonas Clarke Middle School and am in Miss Sheild's science class. I was wondering how long it took to manufacture Puma or Jaguar.
Hi Ian:
The answer is in two parts. Hanu Singh’s group at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution built the vehicles in about six months. The software was based on a previous vehicle called SeaBed, that Hanu had built for doing photographic imaging in shallow water, for example, of coral reefs. So the software had been evolving for a few years.
Good question!
