Researchers wait on the dock in the Seychelles capital Victoria for a ride to the WHOI research vessel Knorr. Chocolate bars, microscopes and clothes are some of the items squeezed into dozens of bags. In three days they will pick up another 70-tons of pre-shipped supplies during a stop at Mauritius, an island located 950 miles south of the Seychelles.
