Dave Grimes working on “pointing” a rope. You can see the checkerboard pattern of splicing and knots on the end of the rope lying on the table. This is the “pointing”, and it is beautifully done. This line will be used for the “pilot ladder” -- the rope ladder that the harbor pilot climbs up to get on board RV Melville when we enter port.
