A close-up of the bow thruster (B/T). When it is in its fully operational position, the B/T can swivel 360 degrees in either direction, so can provide thrust in any direction. When it is not needed, the B/T is fully retracted into the hull. When the B/T is down, the ship can only travel at speeds of less than 6 knots.
