A middle school class in Lexington Mass. decorated Styrofoam cups that we have brought on the ship for “shrinking” under deep-sea pressure. We put the cups in a mesh bag attached to the sub, which carries them to the seafloor during a dive. (Photo provided by Carolyn Sheild)
