On the bridge at 6 a.m., Expedition Leader Pat Hickey gazed through rain-slicked windows to decide if it was safe to dive today. He canceled the dive when the 35-knot (40 mile-per-hour) winds and 10-foot (3-meter) seas showed no sign of abating.
