On Sunday night, Chief Scientist Deb Kelley helped
construct markers for placement at structures on the Main Endeavour hydrothermal
vent field. Each letter represents a different chimney structure (N for
Needle, E for Easter Island, and Cr for Crypto). Cutouts prevent bacterial
growth from obscuring the sign.
