DSOG team members Fran Taylor (left) and Peter Collins change the oil in one of the ROV Jason’s junction boxes. “On submersibles like Jason, all the electrical wires and junction boxes are full of oil to compensate for the pressure at 10,000 feet,” explains Fran. “So whenever you work on Jason’s electronics, you have to take the oil out and then put it back in.”
