A 3-dimensional view of the multibeam bathymetry data shown in the previous photograph. Depths on the color bar are in meters times 100 (i.e., 36 in the color bar is 3600 meters). The areas of the two photos are approximately the same. The red arrow points to the summit of the volcano. North is towards the top of the photo. We plan to sample rocks on the volcano by dredging on its southern flank tonight.
