Mounds of tubeworms thrive in an area called Clam
Bed in the Main Endeavour vent field. Tubeworms can grow up to seven
feet (two meters) long and four inches (10 centimeters) in diameter.
Tubeworms never leave their tubes, which are made of chitin, the same
hard material that forms the shells of crustaceans.
