Atlantis R/V Atlantis
The 274-foot (83 meter) Atlantis, one of the nation’s newest research vessels, is specially outfitted for the vehicles of the National Deep Submergence Facility. 
Melville R/V Knorr
R/V Knorr, a 279-foot (84.5-meter) vessel, can stay at sea for up to eight weeks. It is equipped with sophisticated navigation and communication systems and can accommodate a wide variety of scientific projects.
Melville R/V Melville
The 278 foot (85 meter) long Melville is operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, a graduate division of the University of California, San Diego. Melville is owned by the US Navy and is a multipurpose research ship that has been used by many scientists for more than 30 years in nearly all the world’s oceans.
