 Last night, biologists looked at a baby tubeworm under a microscope. The middle brown section is the part of the worm where all the bacteria live. The left-hand end is the bright red plume that sticks out of the worm’s tube. Between the plume and the bacteria is the collar that holds the worm inside the tube.
